  1. What is new in DCP v4.1?
  2.  
  3. Compared with version 2.1 (version 3.0 was only available
  4. in an internal version) the  following  things  have been 
  5. changed/integrated/added:
  6.  
  7. a) Formating 
  8.    DCP v4.0 does automatically format previously 
  9.    unformatted disks. With a special switch (-F)
  10.    DCP can be forced to  format  even  formatted
  11.    diskettes.
  12.  
  13. b) Compressing data
  14.    In  order  to reduce the amount of disk space 
  15.    needed for storing DCP-created image-file the
  16.    switch -D is now available. If this switch is
  17.    specified, all data will be compressed.   All
  18.    uncompression is done automatically.

  20. c) Better error messages
  21.    Earlier versions of DCP returned  hexadecimal
  22.    error-codes  whenever  a  disk  problem   was 
  23.    encountered. Now, complete error messages are 
  24.    returned instead.

  26. d) 286/386 versions
  27.    There are two versions of DCP available,  one
  28.    compiled for 286-cpus and one for 386-cpus.

  30. e) Disk Copying
  31.    The disk copy mode  was  changed changed  for 
  32.    the user's ease.
  33.  
  34. f) F-switch
  35.    The switch "-F"  is  now  used  to  force DCP 
  36.    to format diskettes.  For  explicitely speci-
  37.    fying  disk  formats  you  have  to  use "-S" 
  38.    instead.
  39.
